'I liked how ethics has changed my way of looking at things. I liked how we got to argue our point of view and that we looked at different sides of it. We got a particular dilemma or situation and we got to think about whether it was good or bad. I liked that there was no right or wrong answer.'
- Amy Tam, Crown Street Primary School
Primary Ethics is a grassroots, community-based organisation that exists thanks to our 400+ enthusiastic volunteers who are generous in giving us their time and sharing their skills. As we expand into more schools and when new curriculum is made available to all primary-aged children, we expect our volunteer workforce to expand to more than 4,000.
Our volunteers are:
Ethics Teachers who are selected and trained to teach Ethics classes to children for 30-45 minutes each week during school term.
Ethics Coordinators who liaise with the principal of a specific school to arrange the classes as well as recruit suitable volunteer Ethics Teachers.
Volunteers Managers who have responsibility for recruiting and managing Ethics Coordinators and schools in one or more large geographical area across NSW.
Trainers who have strong experience in adult learning, philosophy and facilitation skills. They are helping to create our training materials and they deliver initial face-to-face training to all of our Ethics Teachers as well as assist with online training and support.
Mentors who provide in-classroom support to Ethics Teachers, ensuring we provide high quality delivery of our curriculum to children across the state.
Supporters who help in many ways, including with database development, website development and maintenance, newsletter publishing, online training development, general administration and fundraising.

Students (L to R - Kathryn, Elizabeth and Michael) at Putney Public School and their Ethics Teacher, Jemma Rollo, discussing issues surrounding killing animals for food.
We thank and acknowledge the contribution of all of our volunteers and look forward to welcoming many more volunteers in the future.
